APRIL 2006 MY LOVER LORRAINE WITH PRISCILLA PRESLEY ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE PHOTO'S OF TWO OF MY FAVOURITE LADIES
Hi Everyone, Please let me introduce myself. My name is Michael Comley and I was born on the 10th April 1961 in Swindon, Wiltshire UK. I have lived in Walton-On-Thames in Surrey since 1968. I am married to Nicky for 22 years and we have two sons, Matthew, 22 and Luke 19. I first became an Elvis Presley Fan by accident in 1975 when I was 14. Elvis had just turned 40 and there was allot about him in the media, most of it nasty, but hey us Elvis Fans are used to that - lol. I wanted a double LP called "That Will Be The Day" for Christmas, but my Mum bought me the great "Elvis 40 Greatest Hits" double album on the Arcade label instead and WOW, I was hooked from the moment I first put it on the turntable. What an album, such a mixture of 50's, 60's & 70's - a great cross section of our mans work. I started to watch all of his films on TV, I remember telling my whole family to keep quite as I recorded all his films on a cassette tape (the days before VHS & and DVD), I would lie in bed and replay my cassette and just dream that I was Elvis. I only had two years of being a Fan with my idol still with us. My dream like most of you reading this was to see him live in concert, but again like most of you my dream never got the chance to come true. When he died I was in total shock, I was only 16 and it was my first bearement of any sort and it hurt like hell. On August the 17th 1977 I went and bought all the national newspapers and spent all the money I had on as many LP's and singles as I could get my hands on. In September 1977 I joined the Army where I stayed for the next 11 years rising to the rank of Sergeant (just like Elvis). I recall watching the CBS TV special in early 1978 whilst in a great big Army TV room and it broke my heart to see Elvis looking so ill, but THAT voice, WOW, still booming out till the end. In 1986 I met my wife Nicky whilst serving in Canterbury, we got married on 28th October 1986 and now have two lovely sons, Matthew & Luke. Whilst serving in the Army in Germany I did pay a flying visit to Frankfurt to see Elvis Army Barracks. I have been to Memphis twice, first time was in January 1995 for the 60th Birthday. Nicky is not an Elvis fan, but she came with me on this first trip as she new how much it meant to me. One memory I will always treasure is that on Sunday 8th January 1995, Elvis 60th Birthday, I was at the gates at around 06.30 am, with a group of fans, waiting for them to open. At 07.00 am the gates opened and I made the effort to walk just that little bit faster than the rest of the group up towards the Meditation garden. Sure enough I was the first one to reach Elvis resting place and just for a very few precious seconds it was just Elvis and Me, I was the first person in the whole world to be with Elvis on what would have been his 60th Birthday, it gives me goose bumps even now to think of it. My second trip to Memphis was in August 2002 for the 25th Anniversary. This time I went on my own and I met some wonderful new friends that will stay friends for life, including Lorraine who along with her husband Tony have become as close as family and I love dearly. I attended the AWESOME 25th Anniversary Concert at the Pyramid in Memphis and my first Candlelight Vigil in the pouring rain. I got to shake hands with Sam Phillips in Beale street and I had the 25th Elvis face profile tattooed on my arm during a FANTASTIC party in Beale Street. Over the years I have met many famous Elvis "people", Priscilla Presley, Charlie Hodge (who I loved dearly),
MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE MEMBER OF ELVIS'S INNER CIRCLE CHARLIE HODGE

June Juanico, Janelle McCombe, Paul Lichter, Donna Presley Early, Sam Phillips, Patty Parry, Richard Davies, Myrna Smith, Estelle Brown, Bernard Lansky, Jennifer Holden, Dean Nichopolous (spelt wrong) and well hopefully allot more to come. My very good friend Claire Rhodes-Brandon first introduced me to Elvis on the www, something I am eternally grateful for and she has become a life long friend and I love her dearly. We met whilst waiting in line in Waterstone's for over 2 hours to meet Priscilla Presley, only to get to the front to be told that Priscilla had to leave to do some TV work. We were both gutted and ran round the back of the store to see her getting into a car and driving off. I managed to grab a snap shot photo of Priscilla in the car as she had her window open. Claire gave me her e-mail address so I could send her the photo. Thankfully Claire and I got to meet Priscilla the very next year when she came over to launch her bed linen at the House Of Fraser in Guildford, we were first and second in line this time and were not taking any chances. Again this special day is one of those moments I will treasure for the rest of my life, I got to kiss Priscilla Presley twice !! and the very lovely Claire. I hope this gives you all a bit of knowledge about me and please feel free to contact me if you need any "Elvis help", I might be able to point you in the right direction for that rare CD or DVD.
